Socialize
The Catholic Chaplaincy at York holds some great social events during the school year to give you a break from the daily grind. Have fun and make some new friends!
“So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.”
- 1 Corinthians 10:31
Men’s Ministry
We regularly gather the men to bond and have fun whether it’s at an arcade or at a bar. We also do faith-based events for the men to learn what it means to be a Catholic man in this day and age.
Social events include:
Dave & Busters
Timber’s Lodge (well, not anymore, but I’m sure we’ll find another bar)
Faith-based events include:
Movies/documentaries
Annual pilgrimage to St. Joseph’s Oratory
Men’s book studies
Women’s Ministry
Similarly, we also have a women’s ministry lead by Aurore where the women gather and bond.
Now, I am a man making these pages so I have no idea what the ladies do. So for the time being, this section is going to be under construction. I’m sure the ladies have fun though.
Nature Hikes
Typically during the Fall season, we will have hikes down large parks.
We also do an annual Martyr Shrine pilgrimage during September where we hike for about 14km and venerate the Canadian martyrs.
Coffee House
Coffee House is our annual talent show hosted at St. Wilfrid’s parish, usually done in March. Refreshments are also provided. Wouldn’t be a coffee house without the coffee after all.
All kinds of performances are welcome, whether singing, dancing, or bringing in your pet snake (yes, this really happened).
Sit down and enjoy the show!
End of Year Banquet
After a hectic year of school and ministry, we like to settle down and celebrate by reserving a banquet hall every year. This is a great opportunity to come in your finest drip and meet some new people.
Come and show us your dance moves!
